Affinia Manhattan or Millenium Hilton?

Just wondering if anyone could help me choose between these two hotels. I want to shop - my boyfriend wants to sightsee and we would like to be close to some good restaurants/bars etc. - which do you think would be best location for us?

Affinia Manhattan or Millenium Hilton?

Hi ...

I can%26#39;t help you with the Affina, but we stayed in the Millenium Hilton (you can check out my review) and it was a great hotel - but the night life was a little lacking - we ended up heading along Fulton Street towards the Seaport on a couple of evenings.

So in all, fine for day time sight seeing - as we used the subway and walked around - but not so hot locally for the evenings.

Affinia Manhattan or Millenium Hilton?

Stayed at the Affinia Manhattan two years ago. My daughter and I had a prety nice room, it also had a kitchenette with stove, fridge and sink. It was handy for leftovers and snacks. The hotel was real close to macys, Empire State building and a short walk from Times Square. We loved it......I would just reccomend staying up at least on the 6th floor. The only draw back is you are right next to a fire station so you hear the sirens now and then, but it actually made me feel safe.

Why just these 2 hotels????

The Mill. Hilton is a nicer tradition (4*) hotel but it%26#39;s in the financial district. It%26#39;s near Century 21 (discount dept. store) and near the ferries and Wall St. but not near the typical midtown things. The area is quiet on weekends but if you head north, you%26#39;re in Tribeca and Soho.

The Aff. Manhattan is near Macy%26#39;s and a lot of shopping and within a 10 min. walk to Times Square. Would be considered more centrally located but it%26#39;s not near many decent restaurants and bars. Every hotel will have some drawbacks, but frankly these 2 are not what I would chose for a young couple. So I repeat, why just these 2?

bella..my husband and I stayed @ Affinia Manhattan in Nov.;we had a room w/kitchenette,and balcony,up high enough from street noise. The staff was very helpful. The location was great for us(coming off Amtrack,@ Penn Sta.across the street).we love to walk, and subway is also right there. We have also gotten good deals on Shoreham,Belvedere, and Salisbury..

oops. Sorry for the double post.

I have narrowed it down to these two as I have good rates on them for my dates and they both have good trip advisor reviews. Where else would you suggest (BTW we are aged 30 and 34)?
