BoltBus : NYC > DC + Boston & Philly Too!

BoltBus, the Greyhound spin-off that plans to start super-cheap service between New York and Washington D.C. later this month, will expand to Boston and Philadephia in April, according to the The Telegraph.

More cities could follow as BoltBus%26#39; and Greyhound%26#39;s parent company, FirstGroup, rushes to compete with its rival, Stagecoach. Stagecoach%26#39;s Chicago-based Megabus, launched in April 2006, offers bus trips through the Midwest for as little as $1.

As for the Boston service from New York, it would start sometime in April and would feature guaranteed seats, free but slow wi-fi, and power outlets according to the Boston Globe. They also noted that this is ';the same kind of service Vamoose started to launch last year until it ran afoul of ordinances in Boston and Cambridge.';

The BoltBus service between NYC and Washington will start March 27 with eight express trips daily. Prices start at $1, (plus a 50 cent service fee) but rise as the bus fills up, so the sooner you book, the more your save.

Thanks for the info.

I was thinking of adding Boston as a side visit when I next hit NY. If If you can get a far for a couple of dollars it%26#39;s worth it to book even if you don%26#39;t end up taking it.
