Please Help! Best side to stay for short relaxing trip

This is our first time ever to NY or Canada and we can only stay 2 nights. A dream for years and this will be our only chance to go.We are a couple with no children and want the beauty of the falls with Maid of the Mist and a couple of other tours.. Coming into Buffalo by plane. Please help by sharing your opinion and any tips as to the preferred side to stay with the best hotel with view and also the best restaurant with amazing view. If you scroll to bottom of link, links of hotels with views of Falls, Canadian side. You should stay on Canadian side. However, recommend renting a car to see attractions on New York side like Cave of Winds.

Bring passports OR drivers license + birth certificate if going to Canada.

The best bargain for your money as far as rooms go would probably be NF, NY. There are many great places to see in NF, Ontario. The best view from a restaurant would have to be the Skylon in NF Ontario.
