St Paddys Day - Best Irish Pubs ?

Any Irish pub you venture into on St Pat%26#39;s day will be super crowded - what would be the best pub - the one that can serve you a pint the quickest would be a good indication.

don%26#39;t be surprised if they serve pints in plastic cups - a lot of the the clientele on the 17th are what are referred to as amateurs, somewhat like the revelers who go out on New Years Eve and not again all year and as those folk, the St Pat%26#39;s crowd try to get all their drinking done in one day - so beer seeved in a glass glass, would not be a good idea.

It will be extremely busy, prepare yourself for that.

Poppa

Here%26#39;s an even better list from Murph Guide:

My favorite pub - full stop- in NYC is Swift in the east village. It%26#39;s part of a mini - chain that also includes Puck Fair in Soho and Ulysses in Lower Mahattan. All three have nice innovative-yet-traditional decor, friendly efficient staff and interesting mix of patrons.

But to be honest, the idea of going to any of these places on St. Patrick%26#39;s day is sort of horrifying...

On top of that - they offer a free shuttle between the 3 bars. I love Swift, but prefer Ulysses (usually less crowded).

Thanks J-A-W-P and I just want to include your disclaimer and reiterate - the 17th at any Irish Pub or bar in NYC will be very scary as to the sheer number of patrons they try to [pack in their establishment!!!!

Do what you will - you%26#39;ve had fair warning......

Walking around, i%26#39;ve already seen a ton of Irish pubs. From Rosie O Gradys to O Reillys. There really are a heap to choose from

Peterpack

Will be visiting many of them as the day goes by celebrating my birthday with a few pints of Guiness!!!

Peterpack - thank you for saying that. Yours is a common question every year, and folks don%26#39;t seem to fathom the sheer countless number of Irish pubs all over NYC.

McSorley%26#39;s Old Ale Tavern: Cooper Union and East 7th Go early.
