JFK-Manhattan Taxi Fare-is this reasonable?

Hi. We are due to arrive at JFK at 10pm on Wednesday. I contacted Limores for a fare to the Affinia Dumont(which I believe to be fairly central) and was quoted over $90 base fare for 4 of us, not including tax and extras. Does this sound reasonable? We are a family of 4 and will have 4 suitcases and handluggage. Are we better catching a cab from the airport without pre-booking? I would do this but am afraid of not getting a reputable firm. Which companies should I be looking for to use? Thanks for any help anyone can give.

You should just take a taxi at the airport. You%26#39;ll fit and there%26#39;s a flat fee of $45 (which comes to about $60 after tolls and tip).

All of the taxis in New York are regulated by the city--there aren%26#39;t competing companies--so just be sure to follow the signs to the taxi stand, where the dispatcher will put you in a cab. Don%26#39;t accept a ride from anyone soliciting at the airport--those are scams.

I always get a yellow cab from the airport into Manhattan--the fare is $45 and then tolls and tip will take it to around $60. There are larger cars available which can easily accommodate 4 adults with luggage. Just make sure you go to the official rank outside the terminal building and ignore anyone who approaches you offering a car.

Otherwise, just take a taxi as others have suggested.

Shuttle bus is a TERRIBLE idea in general (you waste so much time waiting for others to be picked up/dropped off) but especially for a group of 4, the price is the same or more as a taxi with no sharing and no waiting! The shuttles charge $15-17/person while a taxi will cost $60 MAX.
