I'm back! Not a ';proper'; trip report but had to share ...

I got bk on Friday and had yet another lovely week in NY! Even getting caught in the ';snowstorm'; on the first day which left me looking like a drownd rat didn%26#39;t dampen my spirits!

Highlight of the trip (other than seeing my lovely boyf) was being unexpectedly upgraded to the Penthouse Loft on On The Ave after they failed to clean up our room after the guest before us! We opened the door to meet an unmade bed, rubbish and beer cans everywhere!

My boyf rang reception and really went for the sympathy vote saying he%26#39;d planned to propose and that it was all ruined and that I was almost in tears ( I wasn%26#39;t - far from it actually LOL) at the state of the room, etc

Anyway reception put him on hold after apologising profusely and the manager came on and said that we were gonna be upgraded as way of apology. Our original room was really nice so tyhe min my boyf mouthed at me that we were gonna be upgraded I knew we were either going to the Penthouse Loft or Suite!!

Oh my word ...the room was beautiful!! We%26#39;re so going back and are gonna book the Penthouse Loft next time! I had 3 amazing nights in that hotel ..I loved every minute! Highly recommended. Satff were helpful and polite at all times and it really was a pleasure to stay in!

Don%26#39;t get me started on Astor on The Park with their thieving staff ...I%26#39;ll save that for the hotel review forum! Thank God I was only there for 2 nights in all! My friend and I were originally meant to be staying there for the week but I went off with my boyf and stayed at On The Ave and at his parents for the last night while he just stayed in our other friends room for 5 days which also coincidentally happened to be in On The Ave.

Another highlight was the Knicks game I went to ..absolutely hilarious! I loved the spirit of the crowd, even when everyone (ourselves included) walked out a few mins before the end when the Knicks managed to mess up what should have been a sure win for them - LOL

Didn%26#39;t really do to much touristy stuff ..actually none at all really cos I did a load of that the last time I visited!

The Huggy Bear lookalike I saw in Harlem on 125th street in his huge and I mean HUUUUUGE fur coat had me in stitches as did the amateur performers I saw being filmed for an episode of Showtime at the Apollo theatre!

Spotted Kanye West and Rhymefest buying comic porn (nice!) in a comic store ..watched Raheem DeVaughn perform a free show at the Apple store in Soho and had a pic taken with him and overall had a fun-filled week!

Next trip ..hopefully end of April for boyf%26#39;s birthday!! Damn this long distance r%26#39;ship malarky sure burns a hole in your pocket LOL

Yeah they ripped me off of $50 after I misplaced the room key (which was later found) ..long story! They lied through their teeth to me though and although the hotel itself was manageable, I%26#39;d rather pay a bit more and stay somewhere else after my own experience there.

It didn%26#39;t ruin my trip though.

i know, things like that can leave a bad taste in your mouth but u don%26#39;t seem the tpye of person who lets it get you down.....it p*sses ypou off tho doesn%26#39;t it?

No definataly not! I%26#39;ll be back again on April 30th!
