eating near The Frick museum

Ok everyone, I%26#39;m a native New Yawker, but I need some suggestions. Any ideas on restaurants near the Frick? I know we%26#39;re in a pricey neighborhood, but we are taking 2 out of towners out with us, so we are not looking for a really expensive place. Any cuisine is fine. Willing to take a stroll to get there.

Thanks!

A 10-minute stroll, but I like Fig and Olive, on Lexington b/t 62nd and 63rd. Good Mediterranean, lots of great olive oils.

Thanks Crans...will check it out.

Via Quadronno is a Milanese cafe. They have good (but pricey) salads and panninis.

I%26#39;ve never had lunch there but Vivolo is a really good Italian on 74 st %26amp; Lexington and they do serve lunch. Lumi is another Italian even closer (70th %26amp; Lex.) and they also serve lunch.

There are some coffee shops too... Gardenia on Madison %26amp; 67-68 is probably the best/closest.

PS there%26#39;s a Sarabeth%26#39;s inside the Guggenheim and if you tell them you%26#39;re going to the rest. you don%26#39;t have to pay museum entry, but I don%26#39;t think the food%26#39;s all that good.

If it%26#39;s a nice day (%26amp; not a weekend, when it gets crowded %26amp; frustrating), how about a short walk from the Frick to the Boat House in Central Park? Not for the (overpriced, mediocre restaurant) but the cafeteria in the same building. Good soup, salads, chili, burgers; you can eat either inside overlooking the lake or outside on the patio. Don%26#39;t forget to check the ';bird book';, describing bird sightings in the park.

been to fig %26amp; olive....loved it!
