Affordable good hotel for 1 person: 19,20,21 June near Times

I%26#39;ve been to NYC December 2007 and cannot believe the hotel rates for June 2008!!!!

I%26#39;m looking for a place near Times Square which is good and affordable... under USD200

Can anyone help?

Travelosity has 190 to 200 for 1st half of June for the

Mayfair which if you can get past the pink wall paper

is quite adequate for 1 person. However, I would

suggest making a reservation that can be canceled

if Super8 or Red Roof lower their prices or some

specials come up on Travel Zoo for less than $200

which is quite likely.

Have you looked at the Pod Hotel? It%26#39;s not in Times Square (it%26#39;s in East Midtown), but it%26#39;s close, gets good reviews on TA, and is in your price range.

Whoa, those dates are outrageously expensive. I%26#39;d say a hostel or hotel with shared bathroom or forget about Times Square. It is next to impossible to find a hotel near Times Square with private bath for under $200/night and June is very very popular/expensive month (wedding, graduations, school%26#39;s out).

Big Apple Hostel is in Times Square and has private rooms with shared bathrooms.

Portland Square hotel has a single with shared bath. (found it on the search engine on hostelz.com) but I would rather stay at some place like the Stanford with private bath and better reviews, a bit further from TS.
