Family friendly restaurant around Grand Central Station

Could someone please recommend a restaurant that is in or near Grand Central Station and offers good food, good prices and is also kid friendly? I will be visiting NYC next week and I need to setup a dinner for 12 people including 4 kids ages 4 thru 15. Thanks.

Junior%26#39;s inside Grand Central is like a diner and famous for their cheesecake. But it sounds like Carmine%26#39;s in Times Square would be a much better idea. It%26#39;s Italian served family style. The kids would also enjoy the bright lights of Times Square not to mention the Toys R Us there with the indoor ferris wheel. You can take the #7 subway or the Times Square shuttle from Grand Central and be there in 10 mins.

Tony%26#39;s Di Napoli is another family style Italian in Times Square if Carmine%26#39;s is too pricey.

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry, I should have been more specific. I was looking for a little bit more upscale but child friendly restaurant, serving American traditional fare (steak or seafood).

Basically, it sounds like your only option would be the Oyster Bar in Grand Central.

Call 212-490-6650 as soon as you possibly can.

The Grand Central area is more a business area and caters to the office buildings %26amp; hotels that surround it. Apart from the cheaper places in the terminal, I really wouldn%26#39;t call any of the rest. in the immediate area kid friendly. Pershing Square across from the terminal is like an upscale diner more known for breakfast than dinner. You%26#39;re more likely to find kid-friendly places either in Times Square or in more residential neighborhoods. What time do you plan on eating dinner? Sometimes a non kid friendly place is fine if you eat early.

Inside Grand Central terminal is Michael Jordan%26#39;s steakhouse. I think it%26#39;s overpriced for the quality of the food, but others on the forum like it. I wouldn%26#39;t nec. call it a kid-friendly place, but I think they%26#39;d be fine with accepting your group if forewarned it included kids. The Oyster Bar mentioned above is good for clam chowder and oysters, but gets pricey for anything else.

Cibo is a restaurant with good value prix fixe menus. They offer a 3 course dinner for $35/person that includes entree options of chicken, fish and steak despite the fact that it%26#39;s really an Italian restaurant. I think I recall they may also have kids%26#39; menus. They don%26#39;t get very busy at night so might be fine accomodating your group and it%26#39;s not far from Grand Central (2 blocks).

A number of the best steakhouses are near Grand Central (the Palm, Smith %26amp; Wollensky, Morton%26#39;s, Ben %26amp; Jack%26#39;s etc.) but they%26#39;ll be quite pricey and not really kid friendly. Ben %26amp; Jack%26#39;s and some others do have some private rooms.

When we were in town for the Christmas Spectacular @RCMH last year we had lunch at CIBO after the performance.

My granddaughter, who is 4, was catered to by the waitstaff who offered kid food - however her palate is a bit more upscale than grilled cheese and hot dogs so she was more than happy to order off the luncheon menu, I believe she had rigatoni Bolognese.

Cibo would be a very good choice for a group with a reservation and when it is made explain the ages whom will be in attendance, I%26#39;m sure they will be more than happy to accommodate your group.

We try to get there a couple of times per year.
