sundays in the village

Hi all when in the big apple from april 24th to 29th me and my girlfriend plan on spending our sunday afternoon in Greenwich village ( after a morning in central park ). Is sunday a good time to stroll the village.

Is there anything happening in washington sq park ?

Will there be games on at the cage basketball courts ?

What else if anything takes place ?

Also if anyone has better ideas please feel free to share, thanks all

Sunday would be a great time to walk around. The streets will be very crowded if it%26#39;s nice out. Unfortunately, Washington Square Park is currently being renovated, so it%26#39;s nothing but fences right now. As for the games (at W. 4th)--probably so. One of my favorite weekend meals is the Indian lunch buffet at Surya, on Bleecker and 7th Avenue. Stop for an ice cream at Mary%26#39;s Dairy (W. 4th b/t 6th and 7th) or Cones (Bleecker at Morton).

I plan on spending my Sunday 6th April checking out The Village too. I plan on going around 11am

Will many of the shops be closed?

Some small boutiques will be closed on Sunday, and many will not open until 12 noon. But brunch will be in full swing at 11am pretty much everywhere you look.
