New York City tour preferrence

Hop on/Hop off or the New York Party shuttle...does anyone have any preference. I like the idea of a 48 hour time frame on the Hop on/Hop off tour. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I liked the hop/on hop off.....I have done it twice in NY and once in London and Paris. Great way to get a feel of the cities. First time NY I stayed on just to see where everything was and then next day got off where I wanted to. I also enjoyed the nightime one, great to see city in lights (but you cant get off that one.) Enjoy. Oh yes, just a small problem. When you get on, and you get a great commentator.....when you then get off, enjoy your sightseeing, then get back on, you get a different commentator. So, sometimes the new one maybe not as good (pronunciations, too many jokes, clarity, talk too fast, whatever). Only happened to me a couple of times. It was great in Paris, as it was a prerecorded well spoken British commentator on the earphones.

This has been discussed a lot. The Party Shuttle guides are much better and the buses are smaller and they stay with you so you don%26#39;t waste time waiting for a bus. If the weather%26#39;s not perfect, the Party Shuttle is much more comfortable since it%26#39;s enclosed(heat or a/c) while the ho/ho are open top. But if you prefer the flexibility of wandering on your own, then go for the ho/ho. Grayline Ho/ho is offering a 2 for 1 discount online. I think this might be due to more competition for them from Party shuttle and other hoho cos.
