OK, I know it%26#39;s not fair to really compare these two but it%26#39;s my turn to ask for help! I%26#39;m planning a romantic trip in November to NYC and had planned to book the Sofitel because of all the rave reviews here on Trip Advisor. It is our anniversary as well as my husband%26#39;s 50th birthday so I want it to be special. I recently found out that I have enough points to get our room at the Ritz Carlton so I%26#39;m considering this instead of the Sofitel. I want a beautiful, luxious, romantic room, great service...just something really really special and once in a lifetime. Is it the Sofitel or is it the Ritz? We could never afford the Ritz if it weren%26#39;t for these points.
Ritz Carlton, Central Park vs. SofitelTrip will be Nov. 21st through 25th, 2008.
Ritz Carlton, Central Park vs. Sofitelgo Ritz, bonus is thanksgiving day parade balloons are blown up in central park nite before thanksgiving.
You%26#39;ll be right there.
Both websites are available I think ritz would better suit your needs this time.
regards and happy anniversary. ely
I think really what you%26#39;re asking is whether it%26#39;s better to have a nicer room at a lesser hotel or a lesser room at a nicer hotel. The Ritz is a 5* hotel. Sofitel is 4*. I think you have to investigate what kind of room you%26#39;d get at the RC vs. what you%26#39;d get at the Sofitel. I%26#39;d also compare the London hotel which is all suites.
Oh I never thought of the Thanksgiving thing. That sounds wonderful but I hope they will still use our points during that time. I%26#39;d better check that out!
Yes, I%26#39;ll check the room comparisons too. Good thinking because I%26#39;ve never stayed at either so I%26#39;ll need to investigate.
