My husband and I are planning a one week visit to New York in April. I%26#39;d also like to stop over in Boston and also visit Niagara Falls. I know one week is short but can anyone give advice on the best way to do this.
any advice welcome
Hi Nannin,
If you have not yet booked your tickets I would look into flying into one city(NY or boston) and out of the other.
It is easy enough to travel between NY and Boston either by train or a quick flight. You should set aside at least 2 days in Boston as it is more than a day trip from NYC. Personally I%26#39;d suggest the train as you will not have to get and from airports, go through security ect...
Check, www.amtrak.com for times and fares.
Niagra falls can be done in a day trip from NYC but you would have to fly. it would be a very long day and you really should take at least two days.
personally I think your plan of NYC, Boston and Niagra Falls is too ambitious in too short a time. I%26#39;d limit it to NYC and Boston. As I said before if you can fly into one city and out of the other you can travel by train easily in between the two cities.
any advice welcome
Very short time for all you wish to do. As mentioned Boston is at least 2 days and for my money so should Niagara Falls. so that%26#39;s 4 days.
Pick one or the other - sorry to burst your bubble, but that%26#39;s the reality of it.
Poppa
So what if we extended and stayed a couple of days longer? Which would be the right order to see these three place in and how long would we need to stay in each place minimum?
Nannin,
My personal feeling is that NYC deserves at least 5 days. That would be a good amount of time to get a feel for the city seeing some of the top sites museums ect...
Boston, as I said before should get at least 2/3 days with 2 being the minimum.
Niagra Falls, I would take two days, simply because it is a lot of travel in one day.
I would think it can be done if you fly into NYC, After your stay here I would fly into Niagra Falls and from there to Boston flying home from Boston.
I%26#39;m not sure of the possibility of flying between Niagra and Boston but others here will be able to answer that question.
I would set aside no less than 9-10 days for all three.
Hhmmnn...........maybe I%26#39;m being a bit greedy then! Perhaps we should just enjoy NY this time....it%26#39;s our 30th wedding anniversary.......... so perhaps we should just stay put and spoil ourselves without all the extra hassles. NY advice and suggestions welcome too!!
Good thinking - Boston and the Falls aren%26#39;t going anywhere!
I think that is a good idea as well.
NYC is one of those place where it%26#39;s tough to get bored.
Like other great cities you could fill five days and leave thinking of all of the things you missed.
