Hi Kelly

Tri and Quad band cell phones bought in the U.S. should work in Europe inc Eire. I would check out the phone you like the look of on the phone company web site. Check to see if their guarantee is worldwide with a point of contact in Eire. Only buy from a reputable dealer (i.e. steer well clear of Times Square Area). Find out if they have the phone unblocked and that way you can try your own sim in it.

My daughter bought a Curitel phone on her last visit, was assured by the salesman it was quad but infact it was dual, this was only discovered on our return to Scotland. I had asked them if the phone could be returned if it did not work. My friend, who worked in New York had to return it on my daughter%26#39;s behalf.

It might be worth a look on websites before you go to compare features %26amp; benefits and cost. You will be able to weigh up the pros and cons of the purchase.

Good Luck

M.

You have to decide what you want the phone for to know what your best option is. There%26#39;s no way to make local calls here cheaply AND long distance back home.
