Hi all, im thinking of booking a 90 minute NY waterway tour for me and gf when in NYC. Has anyone been on one and are they good. How close does it get to the statue of liberty and is there good photo oppurtunities. Also hope it does not sound like a silly qyestion but where is best to sit on the ferry for best views/ photo opps. Thanks all

I have not taken the tour so can%26#39;t comment on it, but if your primary interest is taking some photos of the Statue of Liberty, you might just want to take the Staten Island Ferry across to Staten Island and back. It goes very near the statue and also allows for some great views of the southern tip of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Verrazano Narrows bridge. And it%26#39;s free!

Oh, and if you do take the SI Ferry, you want to be on the west side of it (starboard on the way to SI, port on the way back). That%26#39;s closer to the Statue of Liberty. And that%26#39;s also every nautical term I know.
We did the 90 minute cruise in February and it was great. You get really close up to the Statue of Liberty and the boat pauses for a few minutes for you to take photos.
It doesn%26#39;t matter where you sit on the cruise, you are free to wander around!
