Question on train travel

My hubby and I will be taking a train from DC to New York. Since we are from Texas, we need train information. The train says no checked baggage service. So, do we hold our large suitcases in our seats, is there anywhere to put them. Basically, what is the process for baggage on a train. Thanks!!

Question on train travel

I travel from nyc to boston on amtrak and there are overhead storage bins or areas at the end of the car.

Question on train travel

We will be bringing two 42'; rolling suitcases - will there be enough room for these?

Thanks!!

Can anyone tell me if we will have to carry our suitcases in our laps somehow?

Thanks!

Not to worry, there should be plenty of room for you baggage. If you have any questions, simply as the conductor as you get on the train.

Here%26#39;s Amtrak%26#39;s rules on baggage:

Although from what I%26#39;ve read it all depends on if you get an officous member of staff who will stick to the weight and size limits.

I%26#39;ll be doing the same as you next month but in the opposite direction :)

You%26#39;ll be fine. You may have to leave your bags at the entrance or in the aisle (off to the side) of the train car, but Amtrak can certainly accommodate whatever luggage you have.

Thanks Ya%26#39;ll. And by the way, when I said 42'; - I meant 24';. No, I don%26#39;t have luggage 3.5 feet tall.

Thanks again!!

Two 24'; suitcases will not be a problem.
