We just booked a stay at the Hampton Inn - SoHo for the last part of June but are concerned because there is no information about the hotel, area, rooms, etc. I know it is in the SoHo District but still could be a ? area. They do not answer their phone yet. Can anyone tell me about this property. The Hampton central information said it is a new hotel.
More information would be helpful.

It is brand new and not yet completed being built. I would book a back-up cancelable reservation somewhere else in case it%26#39;s not open in time. It%26#39;s scheduled to open end of May last I looked. Generally when hotels have been delayed opening, they have to provide an alternative place for you to stay, but given June is a pricey month, I personally would feel safer booking something you pick that you can cancel.

I was not able to find out much other than this hotel is still under constuction and is slated to open within the next couple of months. It is on Watts Street, off of 6th Avenue. The neighboorhood is great! 2 blocks from the A,C,E subway, which is a convienant line for tourists, will bring you right up to Times Square! Although they label themselves as being in SoHo, I don%26#39;t consider the area west of 6th Ave to be in SoHo, really the West Village. Anyway, you are steps away from SoHo, great (expensive)shopping, galleries and fantastic restaurants! You can do an Eart Google search for 6th Avenue and Watts Street, NY, NY to see where you will be. The hotel is min-block between 6th and Varick.
Enjoy, it will be great to stay in a new hotel (nice and clean) and in a great neighborhood!
