Will be in NY in April.........is there any point in going out to Coney to see what is left? and if so, how long of a tripis it from 7th/57th. Thanks
Coney Island
I%26#39;d say yes, if It%26#39;s a nice day.
Most of the attractions will not be open, but you can still see the parachute jump and the roller coaster, and get a feel for the area... maybe walk along the shore to the adjacent Brighton Beach neighborhood. The ocean%26#39;s nice, regardless of any other amusement
You should probably allow an hour travel in either direction.
Coney Island
It%26#39;s probably about an hour and 15 minutes on the subway down to Coney Island, so you might as well combine it with a walk through the exciting and exotic Russian neighborhood of Brighton Beach, which is right next door. Keep an eye out for the sidewalk caviar shacks.
Astroland and Deno%26#39;s Wonder Wheel, the most famous of the Coney Island amusement parks, WILL be open this season. During April they will be open only on weekends, so a weekend day will be by far the best time to go down to Coney Island. Theres a great view over the sea from the Wonder Wheel.
