Millenium UN Plaza Hotel- Any opinions?

Hi everyone.

10 days to go!!!!!!!

will be visiting NYC for six days during Easter and me and my (59 firends have booked the Millenium UN Plaza.Has anyone stayed there? What%26#39;s the impression? What about the area? Some say it%26#39;s a bit far from the action.

Thank you all.

I am wondering this too.

The price is ok and the views look great, I just don%26#39;t want to be really far from things...

The hotel is usually very good value. It%26#39;s further east than many so a bit farther to walk to the nearest subway stop (say an extra 5-7 mins), but it%26#39;s a lovely area in midtown; combo UN and residential. The problem for beachgirl (and the reason I didn%26#39;t recommend it since it does have rooftop pool) is most if not all rooms are only for 2 people unless you get a suite which is pricey. Even the rooms with 2 beds are 2 twins, not doubles or larger.

We recently put up family @ this hotel %26amp; everyone was happy. Double rooms had 2 double bed or 1 kind, were somewhat small but very nicely decorated. Ask for a high floor for the most amazing views; indoor pool is great. You%26#39;ll be across the street from the UN, a few blocks east of Grand Central w/access to most subway lines, good bus routes; easy walk to a lot of places. There are some very good ';neighborhood'; restaurants, including the Palm, Sparks, L%26#39;Impero (in Tudor City), numerous bars on 2nd %26amp; 3rd Avenues The area is primarily taken up by the UN/consuls, offices %26amp; residences %26amp; fairly quiet, but close enough to the ';action.';
