Hi I am visiting NYC for the first time next month, very excited. We are staying at the Library Hotel too, currently No.3 on trip advisor so hopefully we can%26#39;t go wrong with acommodation.
I am wondering what restaurants close by to this hotel are really good...particularly any cosy/romantic restaurants?
Thanks for any info!

Great Restaurants near Library Hotel (299 Madison/41st St)?The Cafe at Country, It is in the Carlton Hotel at 29th and Madison. It is the casual sister restaurant of Coutry which is upstairs.
The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very nice.
Great Restaurants near Library Hotel (299 Madison/41st St)?Funny, all I could come up with are restaurants in hotels too. Asia de Cuba in Morgans hotel (a few blocks south of you on Madison Ave) is a darkly lit trendy spot for drinks and hors d%26#39;oeuvres or a meal. During after work hrs. it%26#39;s not so much romantic as it is BUSY, but the atmosphere is nice later in the evening.
44th st. b/w 5th %26amp; 6th aves. has a bunch of hotels, several of which have nice restaurants. Gabay in the Sofitel is nice, I hear the new place in the Royalton hotel is nice and DB Bistro Moderne in City Club is very good although not really romantic.
For a very romantic Italian restaurant, try Erminia on the upper east side or head to Greenwich Village where there are lots of options. Blue Hill is very good.
The restaurant @ the Morgan Library (not the hotel) would be a very good choice. It%26#39;s on Madison Avenue between 35th %26amp; 36th Streets. You will need to reserve as dining room is small.
This is tough area for restaurants -- it%26#39;s a very commercial district (offices, stores) and not much for restaurants other than the kind you take a client to. However, there are a few possibilities in the area surrounding it (which is more residential): You might like Rossini%26#39;s, on 38th between Lexington and Park - Italian (if you couldn%26#39;t guess :D), Northern. A little further away is L%26#39;Impero, another Italian, on 42nd and Tudor City Place. It%26#39;s about a 10 minute walk from the hotel but Tudor City is an an interesting little area of Manhattan to see while you%26#39;re there.
There is also Madison Bistro, on Madison between 37th and 38th, and Barbes (French/Moroccan) on 36th between Madison and 5th.
Have fun!
Django on Lexington at about 46th is excellent. And there are small great Japanese restaurants all over the side streets off Madison by the hotel. One a little further away I can highly recommend is Sushi Yasuda - east of 3rd on 43rd.
Love L%26#39;Impero!
Wow thanks for all your suggestions...I will do some more research into them. Great to hear there are some small Japanese places near the hotel as Japanese is a favourite. Will also definitely head to Greenwich Village and other areas over dining at a hotel restaurant nearby. Can%26#39;t wait to visit! Thanks again.
